Work Systems The term “work systems” refers to how your employees are organized into formal or informal units to accomplish your mission and your strategic objectives; how job responsibilities are managed; and your processes for compensation, employee performance management, recognition, communication, hiring, and succession planning. Organizations design work systems to align their components to enable and encourage all employees to contribute effectively and to the best of their ability.
