Comparisons

Baldrige Health Care Excellence Glossary

Comparisons

The term "comparisons" refers to results from an applicant's competitors, the industry, or best-in-class organizations that serve to illustrate relative performance.

Benchmarks are one form of comparative data. Other comparative data organizations might use include industry data collected by a third party (frequently industry averages), data on competitors’ performance, and comparisons with similar organizations in the same geographic area.

Note: The term “comparisons” is defined by Baldrige but is not included in their official Glossary. It is included here to distinguish it from the term “Benchmarks”.

Note: Blue words above are hyperlinks to other integrated Glossary terms.
